Transit Toronto Regional Transit Pages
Toronto will soon not be the only city in Ontario with electric rail transit. On February 27, 2015, Waterloo Region took delivery of ION Flexity LRT vehicle #500 from Bombardier. Iain Hendry captured this shot of the vehicle being towed into ION’s Operations, Maintenance and Storage Facility.
This picture is an obvious choice to promote the launch of our page on the History of Electric Transit in Waterloo Region, including the ION LRT. In addition to the history, there is a photo tour of the line, which will develop as the line finishes construction and opens early in 2018. Meanwhile, we have added other histories and pictures, including a History of Public Transit in Oakville, more pictures on the Mississauga Transitway page and continuing upgrades at Union Station.
As always, your feedback and comments are appreciated, and photographs and suggestions for articles are always welcome. Transit Toronto would not be the resource it is without the contributions of transit enthusiasts like yourself. If you would like to contribute, don’t hesitate to contact us.
