Metrolinx contractors continue building the future Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit line between Mount Dennis and Kennedy.

Crews are building an emergency exit from the underground portion of the LRT across from Donlea Drive — between Laird and Leaside Stations.

From 7 p.m. Friday, September 28 until 7 a.m. Saturday, September 29 and continuing overnight nightly, crews are repaving the decking repainting lines in the area. The work zone restricts

  • Eglinton Avenue East between Bessborough Drive and Hanna Road

to just one single lane of traffic in the centre of the roadway.

“Paid-duty” Toronto Police Service officers and traffic-control personnel direct traffic in each direction alternately through the single traffic lane, one direction at a time.

Expect noise from trucks and other construction equipment and when crews expect remove and replace line paint and move concrete barriers and fencing.

TTC passengers aboard buses along these routes can expect major delays:

  • 34 Eglinton East;
  • 51 Leslie;
  • 54 Lawrence East;
  • 56 Leaside;
  • 334 Eglinton East overnight; and
  • 354 Lawrence East overnight.

Repaving and line-painting near the Donlea emergency exit structure — and the resulting TTC delays — continue overnight until 7 a.m. October 1.
