YRT detour, December 4 to 7



Starting Monday, December 4, the Region of York and the Town of Georgina are closing:

  • Metro Road North (Regional Road 78) between Dalton Road and Brule Lakeway

as region contractors maintain the water-main.

York Region Transit is detouring buses operating along this route, while the road is closed:

  • 50 Queensway.

Construction on Metro Road North and the YRT detour continue until December 7.

From Monday, December 4 until Thursday, December 7, southbound buses operate along their regular route to Dalton Road and Metro Road North, then detour:

northward along Dalton;
westward along Lake Drive East; and then
southward along Brule Lakeway to Metro North,
resuming their regular route westward along Metro.

Southbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Metro Road North west of Dalton Road, across from Marie Street, at Hardwood Drive and across from Birch Road.

Northbound buses reverse the southbound detour routing.

Northbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Metro Road North at Birch Road, Hardwood Drive, Marie Street and Dalton Road.
