From 7 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, November 18 until 1 p.m. Sunday, November 19, Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation is closing:

  • Highway 401, all lanes, in both directions

at Martin Street Milton (Halton Regional Road 25), as contractors demolish the old bridge structure.

GO Transit is detouring buses operating along these routes, while the highway is closed:

  • 25 Waterloo / Mississauga;
  • 29 Guelph / Mississauga;
  • 30 Kitchener / Brampton express; and
  • 33 Guelph / Georgetown / North York.

Milton Transit is detouring buses operating along these routes, while the highway is closed:

  • 1C Industrial; and
  • 62 Campbellville.

A special eastbound bus leaves University Centre Terminal at the University of Guelph at 8:23 a.m. Sunday, November 19 for passengers travelling to Toronto for the Santa Claus Parade. It arrives in Guelph Central Station bus terminal at 8:33 a.m., then operates along the regular route through Rockwood and Acton to Georgetown GO Station. It ends its trip in Georgetown at 9:23 a.m., in time for passengers to board the eastbound train that leaves Georgetown at 9:38 a.m.

Expect delays at Martin Street / Regional Road 25. Buses operate around the interchange by detouring along the off- and on-ramps.

29 Guelph / Mississauga

From 7 p.m. Saturday, November 18 until 1 p.m. Sunday, November 19, expect delays at Martin Street / Regional Road 25. Buses operate around the interchange by detouring along the off- and on-ramps.

Buses do not stop to drop off or pick up passengers at the Milton Park and Ride carpool lot.

30 Kitchener / Bramalea express

An special eastbound bus leaves Kitchener GO Station at 8:37 a.m. Sunday, November 19 for passengers travelling to Toronto for the Santa Claus Parade. It operates express — without stopping — to Bramalea GO Station, ending its trip at 9:47 a.m. At Bramalea, passengers can connect with the eastbound express train that leaves Bramalea GO Station at 10:02 a.m.

Expect delays at Martin Street / Regional Road 25. Buses operate around the interchange by detouring along the off- and on-ramps.

After the parade, the westbound train arrives in Bramalea GO Station at 5:24 p.m. You can connect with the westbound bus that leaves Bramalea at 5:34 p.m. It ends its trip at Kitchener GO Station at 6:54 p.m.

25 Waterloo / Mississauga

From 7 p.m. Saturday, November 18 until 1 p.m. Sunday, November 19, expect delays at Martin Street / Regional Road 25. Buses operate around the interchange by detouring along the off- and on-ramps.

northward along Boston Church Road;
westward along James Snow Parkway North to Regional Road 25,
resuming their regular route northward along Road 25.

Outbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Steeles Avenue East west of Ontario Street North and Wheelabrator Way and
  • on Martin Street across from Chisholm Drive and
  • in the Milton Park and Ride carpool lot.

Instead, outbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Esquesing Line across from Boston Church Road,
  • on Lawson Road across from Hunter Drive [2 stops] and at Boston Church Road,

The outbound bus that leaves Milton GO Station at 7:10 p.m. operates along its regular route to Steeles Avenue East and Martin Street, then detours:

westward along Steeles East;
northward along Industrial Drive; and then
eastward along Market Drive to Martin Street,
ending their trips.

Outbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Martin Street across from Chisholm Drive and
  • in the Milton Park and Ride carpool lot,
  • on High Point Drive west of Regional Road 25 and at Parkhill Drive and
  • on Parkhill Drive south of High Point Drive, at Durante Way, south of Durante Way [2 stops], north of Durante Way and at High Point Drive.

Instead, outbound buses drop off or pick up passengers at temporary stops

  • on Steeles Avenue East at Chris Hadfield Way and across from Bronte Street,
  • on Industrial Drive at Hannart Court and Market Drive and
  • on Market Drive east of Industrial Drive [2 stops] and at Martin Street.

Inbound buses start their trips on Market Drive west of Martin Street, then proceed:

eastward along Market to Martin,
resuming their regular route southward along Martin.

Inbound buses skip their regular stops

  • on Parkhill Drive [west] south of High Point Drive,
  • on High Point Drive at Regional Road 25,
  • in the Milton Park and Ride carpool lot and
  • on Martin Street at Chisholm Drive.

Instead, inbound buses pick up passengers at a temporary stop

  • on Market Drive at Martin Street.
