The City of Brampton is closing

  • Main Streets North and South between Sproule Drive and Charolais Boulevard,

and other streets in downtown Brampton Saturday afternoon and evening to accommodate the Brampton Board of Trade’s annual parade.

Brampton Transit and GO Transit are detouring bus services during the event.

The City is setting up barriers at the intersection of Nelson Street West / Theatre Lane with Main Street North to accommodate east - west bus traffic and Peel Regional Police officers direct buses through gaps in the parade.

An extra eastbound bus leaves University Centre Terminal at the University of Guelph at 8:23 a.m. Sunday, November 19. It arrives in Guelph Central Station bus terminal at 8:33 a.m., then operates along the regular route through Rockwood and Acton to Georgetown GO Station. It ends its trip in Georgetown at 9:23 a.m., in time for passengers to board the eastbound train that leaves Georgetown at 9:38 a.m.

After the parade, the westbound train arrives in Georgetown GO Station at 5:49 p.m. You can connect with the westbound bus that leaves Georgetown at 5:57 p.m. and travels through Acton and Rockwood to Guelph. The bus arrives in Guelph Central Station bus terminal at 6:47 p.m. and ends its trip on the University of Guelph Campus at 7:02 p.m.

The Christmas Tree-Lighting Ceremony in Brampton also affects service along the route Friday, November 17.

31 Kitchener train

A special eastbound train leaves Georgetown GO Station at 9:38 a.m. Sunday, November 19, and picks up passengers at all stations until Bramalea GO Station, arriving at 10:02 a.m. It then serves all other stations along the line to Union Station, ending its trip at 10:41 a.m. A special westbound train leaves Union at 4:45 p.m. It arrives in Bramalea at 5:24 p.m. It then drops off passengers in all stations, ending its trip in Georgetown at 5:49 p.m.

Extra buses operating along the 30 Kitchener / Bramalea express and 33 Guelph / Georgetown / North York routes connect passengers travelling further westward with the trains.

An extra eastbound bus leaves Kitchener GO Station at 8:37 a.m. Sunday, November 19. It operates express — without stopping — to Bramalea GO Station, ending its trip at 9:47 a.m. At Bramalea, passengers can connect with the eastbound express train that leaves Bramalea GO Station at 10:02 a.m.

After the parade, the westbound train arrives in Bramalea GO Station at 5:24 p.m. You can connect with the westbound bus that leaves Bramalea at 5:34 p.m. It ends its trip at Kitchener GO Station at 6:54 p.m.
